Our Materials | MyLuckyTee
What your order is made from matters as much as how it's made.
At MyLuckyTee we prioritize materials that last, that are safer to produce, and that are honest about their trade-offs.
Apparel — Our First Choice Is Cotton
Where possible, we choose 100% cotton or organic cotton for apparel.
- Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers
- GOTS certified organic cotton meets rigorous environmental and social standards from farm to finished garment
- OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified fabrics are tested for harmful substances — safe for skin contact at every stage of production
- Cotton is biodegradable — it doesn't persist in landfill the way synthetic fabrics do
Not every product in our range is organic cotton. Where it isn't, we say so.
Synthetic Materials — When and Why
We don't avoid synthetics entirely. We use them where the alternative would perform worse or last less time.
Recycled polyester (rPET) — used in select totes and accessories. Made from post-consumer plastic bottles. Not biodegradable, but diverts waste from landfill and requires significantly less energy to produce than virgin polyester.
Standard polyester — used in some accessories and coated hard goods where no suitable alternative exists. We're transparent about this rather than silent about it.
Hard Goods — Built to Last
Ceramic mugs, stainless steel bottles, and tumblers are selected for longevity over convenience.
A well-made mug or bottle used daily for years has a significantly lower environmental footprint than a disposable alternative used once.
- Stainless steel products are durable, recyclable, and ink-free where laser engraved
- Ceramic products are dishwasher-safe and built for daily use
Packaging
Where our fulfillment partners offer it, we select FSC-certified packaging — sourced from responsibly managed forests.
